Data Processing

Every data set you collect is processed automatically. You can also process data yourself on SER-CAT's processing computers.

Automatic processing

  • Processing starts automatically after each data set is collected. SER-CAT runs three programs: cmdxds, Kylin and cmdDials.
  • Summary of all data sets: click Autoproc Log at the bottom of SERGUI.
  • Quick summary for one data set: go to that data set's directory in a terminal and type zsum -b.
  • Full results: in the zz… sub-folders of each data set's directory (for example zzCmdxds, zzKylin, zzCmddials).
  • Results can take a few minutes to appear after collection finishes.

Processing it yourself

  1. Connect with NoMachine to 164.54.208.23 or 164.54.208.93 (see [NoMachine Setup]).
  2. Open a terminal and go to your data directory.
  3. For HKL2000, type HKL2000 and select Eiger16M from the list of detectors.

Use the processing computers, not the data collection computer, so ongoing collection isn't slowed down.

Beam center

  • The beam center values for processing programs are in the beamcenter file in your data collection directory.
  • Or type ssbeamxy aps22idd in a terminal.
